The Challenge

In 2012, Standard Bank Group, one of South Africa’s largest financial providers operating in 52 countries, launched its first banking and share trading apps. They were poorly received due to crashes, bugs, and weak UX, the Group responded with a complete backend overhaul and UI refactor.

The Approach

By thoroughly studying Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and the newly launched Material Design Guidelines, I set out to create a cohesive experience that addressed both user experience and business needs.

The Response

A redesigned experience and interface that effectively used the “material” metaphor, ensuring a seamless, intuitive and consistent experience across all platforms.
